Default trying to decide which used mazda to buy

HI: New member here. Looking to buy a used mazda and hoping to get some feedback. First one is a 2016 Mazda 3 touring with 117,00 miles on it. In good shape but the windshield wiper recall was not completed. asking $11,700..

The second one is a 2017 Mazda touring with all the bells and whistles with 93,000 miles. However, when I got in to test drive the car did not start. They jumped the battery and it seemed fine; really nice car. The sales person told me they replaced the battery and dropped the price to $13, 777. I'm concerned about the battery as I have read that some of the 2017 mazda have issues with battery being drained from other sources of the car.

Any feedback/suggestions you can offer will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

There is no concerned with either year for batteries. The internet is not the best for many service related issues when reported by owners.

If I had to give advise I would say with the very very very limited information between the 2 choices the 2017 because the year and even better would be if you can find a 2018 in your price range.

Thank you for your response! I'm going to add to my confusion by looking at a 2018 mazda 3 sport; so we'll see how that goes!

I can tell you we get far fewer Mazda 3 with 2.5 and automatic in our shop than any other year Mazda with problems to current date (out of warranty).
Yes I own one,

Oh - this 2018 has a 2.0L 4 Cylinder Engine but I'm feeling like it might the one
as it has the lowest mileage I have seen at 58,000 or so. Thanks again for your feedback!

The 2.0 simply has a little less power than the 2.5 but aside from that the engine transmission and everything else is the same.
I rented a 2018 with w 2.0 automatic and going up into the Seirra Mountains on HWY 80 to RENO Neveda starting from the California side and back I could still keep pace with other cars at the posted speed limits of 65 MPH.
