Seat belt alarm going off
HI everyone, im new to the forum...
i own a mazda 2 (2010) model and today when i started her the seat belt alarm kept on going off despite the fact i had my seat belt on, i dont want to take it to the agents as they will charge me a fortune, can i take it to a normal mechanic ? also can i disarm it myself....
your advice will be much appreciated

Was it the alarm for the drivers seat belt - shown on the instrument cluster beside speedo?
or
was it the front passenger seat alarm - shown beside the stereo & heater display screen?
or
was it 1 of the rear seatbelt reminders? ( depends on grade/spec level )
Drivers warning may require replacing the buckle on the seat.
Passengers seat alarm is mounted inside the seat cushion, not sure how to disable, or if possible.
Rear seatbelt reminder may require replacing the offending buckle.
