I have a 94 Mazda Protege DX 1.8 SOHC. I was wondering if any one had any tip on installing the front sway bar(not the link kits, the actual sway bar)

I've found you can interchange a sway bar from a ford escort or a dodge tracer. I found a salvaged escort bar and it does match up. I'm installing it without a lift(just floor jacks) and I'm having a little trouble getting it in place to mount the bushings. It has to wrap around behind the engine at the firewall and it's difficult to thread thru. I've loosened some of the suspension already but I'd welcome any advice before I go any further...
