Hey Zak

Dont want to be a ***** or anything. but before you post anything, make sure you do a lil search on the forum before.

i think this has been brought up by a lot of ppl.

im noticing that alot of people want to upgrade, but havent done a full overview of their ride.

No point on adding a new camshaft the week before your valves get damaged. unless you dont mind gutting your engine all the time.

if you get a complete check-up and find that u need a new air filter, downpipe, broke rotors, w/e it is. then you should def.

add a aftermarket part that'll give u the advantage. (Slotted and drilled. ported/bored/polished w/e)

( Modding a car isnt as easy as you think, in my past experience. especially if your working with a turbo. )

But once u get ur rx-7. come back and ask the experienced technicians on this forum. ( NOT ME)

there seems to be some ppl on this forum that know what they are talking about and they will probly give answer what u need

cheers

umm sorry but don't give advice on rotary engines anymore till you own one talented. Hehe, well there are no valves to break or cam shafts to worry about or pushrods or cylindars to worry about so that's good. As for seeing if your "rotors are broken" like talented says (rotors almost never break, if there is a problem it will be with apex seals, corner seals, and side seals) you can go to mazda and get a compression check, then do a full 60k mile tuneup and get fluids flushed bled and whatnot and also have all the hoses, fuel lines, and belts replaced, then go from there. as for exhaust components, no one makes better Rx-7 parts than racingbeat for the money (IMO). www.racingbeat.com That should give yo u a little gain, also maybe you should convert the FB (it's really called an SA or first gen, nothing in the chassis code is FB like the FC3s and FD3s <-- chassis code for 2nd and 3rd gen) so anyway convert th eSA to fuel injection rather than carbeurated. Also a short or ram air and some new tires will get yo ugoing pretty well. The it'l start to depend on your needs from there, a track car, a drag car, a street ca etc. Do you want comfort, dead on speed, or ability to weave through monutains like a hot knife through butter, but what Istated above is the basic to going towards all approaches.

Alright, well to start things off.....

If you actually read my paragraph, i dont give any rotary tips at all. (i dont even mention anything about the rotary engine.)

the "BROKE ROTOR" sentence was actualyl a typo! (i apologize)

i actually meant BRAKE ROTOR lol ( ive stated in my previous threads that i have im unexperienced with the rotary

Kinda stupid if i started to try to give ppl advice on something im Clueless about eh 87 turbo 2

my paragraph was basically jus sayin, it would help to do a complete overview of your parts that are damaged and can be
replaced with upgraded components.

that is jus what my suggestion is because i felt that has helped me alot in the past.

jus thought id clear those things up

peace

Yeah I re-read your post a couple of times and realized that you were just telling him to have what he has looked at before he got any new parts. My bad i'm sorry, it was the word "camshaft" that made m think you were giving misinformation, I guess that was just an example, my appologies on that one.

Ok this Rx-7 looks to be in pretty good condition. worth $800? Deffinately but I'll let you know that is not an FC 13b, that is the "FB" 13b found in the GSL-SE first gen. It is practiclally an FC engine but de tuned a little (about 15 hp less than an N/A FC). It is a great condition car htough, and I think you'll agree the styling on those is georgious with the curves and hood pivoting forward. the interrior is not too, bad, all the stauining seems top just be on the seat, a trip to the junkyard can have you replacing those with FC seats for cheap. So that is a GSL-SE model which is the best FB they made, in other words you get 4 wheel disc brakes, a stiffer suspension, and the 13b rather than the 12a. I'd say go for it, it's beautiful and has alot of potential. Take my previous advice and replace all wear and tear items and such.

hey welcome new guy, as for your pic question 800...no, 600....maybe, 500....yes, whoever is selling this car try to talk them down to around 600-650 no higher then 670, hope that helps, but as for your rotary questions...dont ever ask me the only thing i know about rotary is how to spell it (being overly sarcastic but you get me)
