Newb Here From GA
Howdy y'all! Just purchased a 2016 CX-5 Grand Touring in Deep Crystal Blue and am loving it -
It's my first Mazda, as I have a long history with Subarus, have owned five in the past fifteen years. Had to have that AWD when I lived up north prior to my retirement which brought me here to northern GA.
Was a bit strange how my CX-5 acquisition came about.......two days earlier, I ordered a 2016 Outback Ltd from my long time Subie dealer, but was very upset when my sales manager refused to budge on my offer. In addition, I have had some extremely long waits on Subaru orders in the past - my last one took seven months to arrive after I was told 8-10 weeks!
Did the research, liked the reviews, so I decided to to visit a local Mazda dealer, who had several 2016's along with a bunch of 2015's sitting on the lot. Was pleasantly surprised this Mazda dealership was able to make me an offer I couldn't refuse - $500 under invoice and I qualified for a $500 factory incentive which brought my purchase price to 1K under invoice. Even got them to throw in a set of splash guards installed - on their dime! Chose one with the tech package, those LED's are really nice. Canceled my Subaru order and got my deposit refund without any hassles.
Love the way the CX-5 is peppier (than the 4 cyl Outback) and handles like a sport sedan. Hope the mpg's are close to what they advertise. Will miss the few extra cubic ft of cargo space, but won't miss the full time AWD, don't need it here in the SE.
This little SUV is really growing on me in the short time I've had it. Just hope the depreciation factor is as good as the Subies since I replace my two rides every five years as the powertrain warranty nears expiration. Yeah, I know.....my Subie dealer used to call me "Mr Depreciation".
Hope to exchange some good info here......Zoom, Zoom!
