Hey yall just got here and i have been struggling for some time now. its time to get a family type car. I love my 00 eclipse gt but i need a car to haul the spawn around. I have been eyeing both the 3 and the 6. my problems start in the fact that i have always had v6's and know that they can lay out some nice numbers. but i see a growing interest in the 4 cyl mazda3. The question is the streetability and practical use of a family car. will the 3 be enough sport for me yet hold the demons? or is the 6 the better choice despite the gas prices? please help me o' wise ones!!!![sm=pimp.gif]
btw i alrdy plan to drop the 3k i saved into the ride and have no plans for a turbo i wanna push the natural aspiration as far as possible

 

I have a 04 Mazda 3... if I were you, honestly.. id go for the 6...

Because the 3 is not a very big enough car in the backseats for some kids i think!
I was looking back there awhile back and its pretty cramped especially when the driver needs leg room and the passenger in the front....

The 6 is a hot "4 door sedan" to me! I would definitly get it even though it may cost a couple dollars more in gas than a 3. 6 is a great car!
Definitly wouldnt have to worry about the room in the backseats for kids and other things.. the 3 does have a good size trunk though, ill admit that. and trust me i LOVE MY 3! but for kids id step up to a 6...

Any Mazda will let you get your "practical and streetability use" outa the car!

however, the 3 is putting out performance numbers comparable to the 3.0 mitsu in the quarter mile.

 

the 05 mazda 6 with the 3.0L is not only a pretty nice car, the spacious room will allow you to haul everything that you need to for the typical person. I haul fire gear and a sound system in my trunk and still have ample room to shove more into it. The seating space is another great advantage. Everyone can sit comfortably, especially a 6'2" guy/gal.

 

yea well i'm 6'2" what gets me is the fact that the clipse tends to make ppl want to race me i have no intention of street racing idiots but i like the idea of building a 6 into a street sleeper if i had the cash i woiuld get the mazda speed 6 and strip it to look like a reg 6 but i is a po man so if i can get a 04 or a program 05 i'll be happy
