Like he said, the axela is the name of the 3 in Japan. The mazdaspeed 3 is the performance 3 model with a turboed engine. I believe in japan it's called the MPS or something.... maybe that's just in Europe.

I know MSP is the Mazdaspeed Protege's nickname. The Mazdaspeed3 is called the Alexa Sport in Japan or Mazda3 sport in Europe.
