New Member Introduction
Hello All,
Mechanically Minded is here... hide your catalytic converters! (If you still have them.) *Double checking... might have missed one out front.*
I'm here to chew bubble gum and write in cursive, and I'm all out of bubble gum.
I'm a mid 80's latch key kid. That means... I got a dad, but i act like I don't.
I played outside with tools just because sticks weren't shiny and I broke them too much.
Nothing was on the 2 t.v. channels and I wasn't moving the antenna again after 10am.
Afterwards, I ate petroleum fingerprinted sandwiches with little slices of my dreams in the middle.
Then, I went to bed and dreamed of nothing. That was the little slice thingy from before.
I like all things mechanical. If it has wheels, I love it. If you like it, I hate it. I am knowledgeable in a plethora of subjects vehicle related. However, not Mazda!
I am here to share and complete a few projects on an inherited 1986 B2000 SE-5. "Papaw's Truck" *Missing converter* FE 2.0 8v SOHC 4 speed in a 5 speed case. 317,xxx miles and younger than me.
Anyway, nobody cares and I can post pictures too. Remember... this hurts me, more than it hurts you.
I will be doing projects such as trans swap with new clutch/flywheel. Clutch master cylinder, lines, slave. Front control arms, Leaf spring bushings. Engine overhaul with comp and ripp'ems bump. Simple stuff, but why not share it?
I work in the gravel for fun, and lean on fenders to save on shoes. Truck has a budget, but I don't do fractions so we assume it's too much. Real world repairs for a badly neglected truck. "Scrap-Paw's truck?"
My temper is hotter than map gas and I always only blame myself. All my opinions are wrong... so I pair them together and that always makes me right.
Here is a post that maybe less than excruciating to read. Most of it untrue, especially the converter part.
