So first- I'm Peter- in North Hollywood.
I'm having some SERIOUS issues with my 82' rx 7 gsl- I just replaced the alternator and the car was running like a champ- very happy with the car- it was fun to drive again.
Until today-
So note that there were NO SIGNS of this problem prior- but I was heading to the beach to take some pix and heading up a pretty decent hill on the 405 south and the rpms jumped up like the clutch was disengaging- it held for a bit- enough to make it up the hill coasting barely- but then in EVERY gear the car did nothing. The fluids checked out fine- the clutch pedal has the same resistance it had when it was working but in gear with the clutch released I do NOTHING - the rpms don't changelike if I was letting the clutch out without hitting the gas- the car does not move or flinch.
The engine it's self is running fine I just can't seem to move at all- I mean without gravity being involved.
I thought clutch plate- but myfather said if there was a hole in the clutch plate then I would not be able to shift at all- I would like at least a little knowledge before I face a mechanic since I don't want to get jacked for them trying to figure out what my problem is.
Thank a million
Peter Brown
