New face here
Hello all! Long time lurker, recent registar here. Love the forums, constantly reading through the new threads. Anyway! After test driving a mazda 3 a few months ago, ive completely fallen in love. Im currently driving an old 97 cavy to death, so im looking forward to buying my first mazda soon.
I actually have a quick question if someone would like to help me clarify something. Maybe you guys know a bit more about dealer lingo than I do haha.

In the description for that car (which seems like an amazing price for mileage/trim) it says "web price reflects $2900 cash down payment or trade equity." I guess my question is, is that ontop of the 10,961? Most of the time if they throw that in there they write "web price does NOT include/reflect 2900 cash down." For example, another ad on that website states "price includes $2,900 cash or trade value."
Other than that, I hope to join the mazda family soon!
~Cheers

i would verify with them, but here is my interpretation of that statement; they are willing to give you that price as a base price if you are willing to put $2900 down in one way or another. i am going to reveal a used car secret to you now that you will never be able to get out of your mind.
here is the total rundown of the deal; they are trying to get you to dealer-finance through them. that means that they are going to be making interest off of the deal. the $2900 down payment is paying them back completely for the vehicle. if you think you read that wrong, let me rephrase that; they have about $2900 of their own money wrapped up in the vehicle and the down payment is completely getting them out from under the car. everything else after that is profit to them. i know it is hard to believe, but i was in the used car sales business once. i used to go to auction with our used manager.
GET A CARFAX ON THE VEHICLE BEFORE YOU MAKE A MOVE ON IT.

Ahhh. Very interesting point. I never thought about that but i totally see what you're saying. Thats sneaky haha. I probably wouldn't be financing with them though because I have an exellent credit score and a good relation with my bank.
Im pretty sure the vehicle has a carfax 1 owner report included.

That car looks great. Thats a great color combo, and it looks like it has a very clean car fax. With all the extras the dealer is throwing in especially the certified warranty it seems to be a very good deal. Good luck.

Oddly, after confronting the dealer about the confusing wording in their descriptions, the prices of all his mazdas magicly changed overnight. Hm
Its up to 12,991 now
