Default My second rebadged Mazda 2

Hello all. My first re-badged Mazda 2 was a 2017 Toyota iA sedan. It was a wonderful car, and I was extremely impressed. However, a herd of Santa's evil reindeer decided to total it out right before Christmas. Thankfully, I was able to snag a 2020 Hatchback, which no one was looking at on the dealership lot. There is no love for Hatchbacks, sadly. Though, that was major luck for me.

How many Mazda 2 / Toyota Yaris folks are here?

I bought a 2016 Sion iA for my kids. Best vehicle purchase I ever made. I got to drive it yesterday. I love the way it handles. I love the size. Close to 40 mpg! Best car for new drivers, but I may make it my daily driver when the second kid graduates from college in 3 years.

Cost of ownership has been near zero. Four years, 22,000 miles, 4 synthetic oil changes, tires and wiper blades and I can still find comparable used scions for sale for more than I paid new.

Lightbulb Yaris hatch; 2020

I got a 2020 Yaris hatch a week ago, and it handles great, no body lean like a Ford Focus.

See quite a few iA's in Chicago, some as Ubers.
Can call it a "small SUV" to average people and they'd not know difference. lol
;-)

I hope for the safety of your kids you have replaced the brake fluid every two years as specified by Mazda?

I am not sure and will look into it. Thank you for pointing this out. I take the Scion and all of my cars to my local mechanic and ask that they do everything necessary. However, I do not recall them changing brake fluids. This is excellent timing since the Scion will be home for Spring Break next week.

Thanks again.

I wonder if I am safe to assume that the Toyota dealership has the Mazda scheduled maintenance set up properly for the 2020 Yaris? I may need to ask this when I take my car for its first service.

Now, that looks interesting and fun.
