Default My dream car brought me here

I've dreamt about owning a Mazda 3 hatchback for about 5 years. I don't know what happened, I saw a 2010 model and fell in love with the car. One of those 'love at first sight' things, I suppose.

Finally, after drooling over others' 3's...I bought my 2012 Skyactiv 3 hatchback on Monday. Still kind of in shock that I actually own my dream car.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one a little obsessed with them. Look forward to browsing around here and learning as much as I can, especially about mods. I've seen some sexy 3's that ya'll put a lot of work into.

for a dream car it should have at least been a Mazdaspeed 3! You know, the one with the turbo!

Noggin: don't steal a man's dream! Now he will have nightmares.

LOL, my dream car would have to be at least a Nissan GTR! I would settle for a a boosted Mustang though!
Love the Koenigsegg Agera: The Agera R - a name that means "take action" in Swedish - is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that churns out 1,140 horsepower and a brutal 885 lb-ft. of torque. The 2,932-pound Agera R sprints from zero to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of over 273 mph.

and the Porsche 918 spyder: 0-62 mph 2.8 s
Engine power it's a hybrid:
608 hp at 8,600/min (V8 engine)
154 hp (hybrid module on rear axle)
127 hp (electric motor on front axle)
887 hp (combined)

Max. torque:
390 lb.-ft. at 6,600/min (V8 engine)
940 lb.-ft. (equivalent torque calculated on the crankshaft, complete system in 7th gear)
787 lb.-ft. (complete system, 3rd gear)

The Porsche 918 Spyder supercar has conquered the 20.6-kilometre record lap around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in less than seven minutes. Achieving a best time of exactly 6 minutes and 57 seconds, the super sportscar equipped with a hybrid drive shaved 14 seconds off the previous record.

The centerpiece of the Nissan GT-R is its powerplant, a hand-assembled twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 that pumps out 545 horsepower and 463 lb-ft of torque. With the help of launch control, that output is sufficient to propel the coupe from zero-to-60 mph in an eye-popping 2.9 seconds on the way to a quarter mile run of just over eleven ticks - results that shame many cars costing twice as much as the GT-R.
All-wheel-drive and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission play a big role in making the GT-R's accelerative heroics possible, with the later capable of ripping off shifts in the blink of an eye. Like other dual-clutch transmissions, it can be slightly unrefined in low-speed driving, but most buyers will find that a small price to pay for the incredible performance it facilitates.

I would be scared of them.

Today's technology is so advanced it is ridiculous. I just picked up some groceries 1 mile away. With the koenigsegg it would have taken me more time to buckle me in then actually getting there. Are they dream cars? Sure they are. But that should not keep anyone from dreaming a dream that is attainable.
Last November I fulfilled a dream of driving a Porsche Cayman at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Exotic Racing Driving Experience). But would I want one in my garage? -No. Where would I drive it to test my abilities?

You two guys are killing me!! LOLOLOLOL!!!

dreaM3, Congrats and welcome to the site.
I had a similar situation when I was young. I spotted my first 57 Chevy when I was about 10 yrs old, I think it was actually a 4-dr, and couldn't think of anything else after that. My first car, a '57 Chevy 210 2-dr.
But I hope you are better to yours than I was to mine. After dumping a rebuilt 327-300 into it and adding a 4-bbl carb, I wrecked it after 6 months. I still blame it more on the bias-ply tires of the day than my driving though.
Most of my earliest memories are about the cars in my life. I can still describe my older brother's first car, a 1951 Ford Deluxe Convertible as if it were yesterday. I remember it better than he does, and I was 5 yrs old!! He was 17.

Virgin1, we have some thing in common. I remember many cars from way back when i was about 5 years old. We did not have a car, my dad had a moped. My "rich" uncle had a VW beetle and access to a company car: a Mercedes Benz 180, the ponton:
And I kept dreaming of all of them, just any car! I pretended my bed to be a car and "practiced" getting in and slamming the door shut. I made "Vrooooom, Vroooom" until my lips hurt.
Maybe not having a car in the family until I was 16 makes me appreciate small tiny cars more than most people would. My dad was 50 years of age when he was required to buy a car. I helped choosing one and it was a Renault R4

It was me who taught him how to drive. How about that for reversing roles.

Long live achievable dreams!
