Looking at purchasing a 2016 Mazda 2 Automatic hatchback base model. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I bought a new 16 Mazda2 (Scion iA in the US) for my kids through high school and college. In retrospect it was the best decision I could have made. I wanted them to have the most safety features possible, perfect reliability and handling to avoid accidents. They drove the newest car in the family.

I was right on the safety features and reliability. I didn’t know it would hold its value as well as it did. As others bought cheap old cars for their kids that needed regular major repairs, ours have been trouble free.

I may keep it as my daily driver when the second graduates in 2 years and buy a Miata for the weekends.
