Knocking noise

RE: Knocking noise
The first thing that comes to mind is a CV joint. The other possibility could be struts if they have a lot of miles on them (mine need to be replaced on my 95 Protege and make a knocking sound in the front end on bumpy roads), or even motor mounts.

RE: Knocking noise
Is the knocking sound a steady noise as long as you are turning or just a few knocks and then quiet? Try this in an empty parking lot or where you have room to turn. Drive at a slow 5-10 mph and turn wheel full to right. Back steering wheel off just a little and then let off throttle. Does noise go away? Now give it a little throttle. If the knock noise now picks up and increases in intensity as you increase throttle then you most probably have a bad left outer CV joint in your front drive axle.

RE: Knocking noise
there is one thing i'm not sure what it's called,
it's that link that connect to your steering rod.
i seens cars with turning click and was from that connector. when you turn your steering wheel that bar will move left and right.
maybe someone here will help me remind what it's called.
