Default Hello MazdaForum!

I'm new to this forum but not new to Mazdas. I bought my first Mazda, a 2007 MX-5 Miata, in 2012. It was built by Jesse Prather for the MX-5 Cup and competed in a few races including the 25hr of Thunderhill. I won NASA PTD National Championship that year at Mid Ohio. In 2013 I bought a brand new Mazda3 as a daily driver and most recently, I purchased a 2019 Mazda MX-5 Sport as a base platform for some Street Stock and Time Trial racing. I'm an engineer and driving coach. I'm looking forward to contributing where I can.

Welcome to the forum.

How do you find the Mazda for racing? My assumption would be that it is a great starting point since Mazda has done all the basics so well that you can work on improvements from that starting point. For other brands there would be a lot of effort spent bringing them up to a comparable starting point especially in terms of reliability. Is my assumption accurate or off base?
