My 2020 GT is equipped with a carbon filter on the top portion of my air intake. Common sense tells me that it has to offer some air restriction as air has to pass through my air filter, then the carbon filter. Has anyone removed theirs, and have you noticed any difference afterwards?

 

The CFM of your engine is NOT effected by that and removing it will change no performance aspect ,but you may be able to hear the air going into the the system better.
