2010 Mazda 6 Throttle hesitation
Hi Im new to this group and I know there’s lots of threads on this subject but I can’t find the answer I need.
Just brought a 2010 Mazda 6 2.5 petrol non turbo for my sons first car and after driving it for a few days have discovered a throttle hesitation. Car is automatic and it’s only happening from a standing start. It’s impossible to get a smooth and measured exceleration from a standing start with both a throttle lag and is inconsistent amount of throttle. I have thoroughly tested this and when you apply a very small amount of throttle and hold it at that point it initially hesitates then slowly climbs revs then suddenly climbs to about 15-2000 rpm causing the car to surg forward. Not undrivable but also not a pleasant driving experience.
Interesting that when I slide the gear shifter across to manual/sport mode the throttle acts perfectly and the car drives normally ??
could this be an ECU problem?
please I need directions for a possible fix.
thanks
