2006 Mazda 2.3 to ford 20011 2.5 swap difficulties
hey Guys I have recently done a swap on a 2006 2.3 Mazda 5 and now with the 2011 Ford 2.5 engine installed
with the 2.3 intake and an adapter plate
and also removed the cog wheel on the end of the intake cam and reinstalling the one from the 2.3 cam onto the 2.5 ford engine
after having done these changes if fired right up ran excellent
the engine light light came on
p0016 cam and crank sensor correlation
I have rechecked the timing with the pin in the block and flat bar in the cams lining up the cog on the pulley with the crank sensor
even with the engine light on it ran excellent
now it has developed a misfire intermittent
scanned it and found misfire on cylinder 2
i then switched the spark plugs and the coil to a different location to try to move the misfire from #2 to the new location
found no change .the misfire stayed with cylinder 2
i then thought it must be an injector
i listened to the injectors with a stethoscope the seem to al ticking the same
i did my level best to index the cogged wheel on the end of the cam to match the 2.3 intake cam
i am wondering if my index is out
that would seem to be the case
are there any spec out there that would help me
dose any one have any advice
