1st Gen RX-7 fuel problems
Greetings, fellow Mazda-philes. I'm working on getting my 1982 RX-7 back on the road. It sat for a few years before I got it from my aunt, but since then the fuel tank has been removed and cleaned. I've installed a new fuel pump, filter, and rebuilt the carburetor (twice). I can get her to start and run, and it will idle forever. However.com, the idle stays high and won't adjust down. Also, if I give it gas to run at higher rpm's, it will eventually run out of fuel and quit, no matter how high the rpm. It won't easily restart, until after it cools for a few minutes. I've recently installed new ignition coils, and the rest of the ignition is sound. I'm guessing there's a problem with either the float levels or something else carb-related. Not many shops in this area are good with these cars, especially since it has the hot start and cold start assist systems on it (both of which probably need adjusting). Any help is appreciated.
