hey calamity,
funny you should ask that.....i just took my 6 to the dealership today and one of the things i'm having done is having the bulbs replaced for the fog, parking and sidemarker lights......and it was all COVERED under the WARRANTY!!!! gotta love that!!!! i bought my '05 6 brand new with the 4yr/50k mile warranty and it rocks.... & i still have another 2yrs or 20k miles to go!!!! is yours still under warranty? if so.....its totally covered man, check it out!!!!!

They will never replace good bulbs for free. Why not just call a dealer to find out the labor cost for changing the bulbs that you will bring in ?

oh yeah, all the bulbs i got replaced had burned out..... thats why they were replaced under warranty. they could've replaced them with some silverstars but then when they (eventually) burned out they wouldn't have replaced them for free because silverstars aren't covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
hey calamity, what year is your 6 & how did you replace the bulbs??!?!?!?!?!? i would definetly prefer sticking some silverstars in there!!!

1) The bulbs are covered during the whole new car warranty period.
2) Do NOT put Silverstars in it! They absolutely suck in this car. Mine weren't as bright as stock and burned out after only 8 months!!!
3) Replacement H1 bulbs are only $7-$8 bucks at any parts store and they are relatively easy to replace.

A good dealer will replace for free, maybe chuck a couple of quid to the guy that does it, it will only take them 2mins to do, they are a little bit of a pain to change but i managed ok,
