Default Tire problems with Mazda 6 Wagon

Hey, so I just bought a 2005 Mazda 6 wagon. It still had stock tires on it, but they were pretty worn down, so I just bought some new tires, which according to the tire place I went where the right size, which is supposedly 215/50R17 93 V so I bought some Nitto Motivo for them, and I started driving on them, and they were awesome until I hit some bumps and the wheels are hitting the top of the wheel cover, for lack of a better word for it. I am wondering if they got the wrong tire size for these, and what tire size would be optimum for this car. Thanks guys.

Those sound like the correct tires since its the only size listed as OEM, if your hitting the tops of the wheel arches I would inspect your suspension and make sure you dont have a weak strut which could allow the wheel to travel more than normal.
