TCS light
hey guys, I was just wondering about something; hopefully someone can tell me what it was. A couple of weeks ago I was actually going up a really really really steep road, but i couldn't just go over the road because it was rush hour and there were tonz of cars ahead of me, PLUS there was a stoplight at the top so it was impossible for me to go over the hill with out stopping until the light tunred green. So, I'm stopped on this maybe 30/40degree angle hill with cars infront and behind me. And finally the light turns green and the car infront of me goes up the hill hesitantly, and as i pressed on my axel, of course it didn't go up as smoothly as i wanted it to go since this was a really steep hill. (that's normal right?????) Then I noticed that the TCS light came on for about a few seconds from the point i started pressing the axel to the point that i got over the hill.
this has never happend to me so i'm a lil worried about what this could mean. i would totally appreciate it if someone could explain this or have an idea about this. thanx

basically, since there is no limited slip differential, only one wheel is really doing the spinning, however sometimes that one wheel slips, and the TCS, rather than allowing you to slip, basically retards acceleration to allow the car to gain traction. This is nice in foul weather and such, but sometimes can be a neusciance on hard turns (when you expect a little slippage) and in straight line acceleration. Good thing it can be turned off too.
