I've done everything in my mazda still in factory condition. i.e. still factory cd player no aftermarket speakers (except of course the subs haha) all material needed (AFTER YOU HAVE EVERYTHING FOR BASIC SETUP!!!) cost around $30-40 period. it all starts with the hi/low converter that is around $15-25 depending on what brand, in this matter i went for the $15 cause and me and a friend did the same thing except he has the $25 and they sound the same. the hi/low converter is the way you get your beat to your subs by splicing into any speaker in your car. after that its all basic run your wires and only one final thing. the 12v REM wire. this is optional on what way you wanna do it. You can run a REM to your fusebox and tie into whatever gets a constant voltage which could be your radio you just have to look at the diagram for which fuse. option number 2 is the way i went and it looks more spiffy and a great use. I bought a switch from Autozone $5 or less i dont remember very inexpensive. you will have to pull apart where your shift *** is and drill a hole, right next to the cigarette 12v cigarette port upfront, to house your switch.then just run your REM to the back of the switch where it says ACC or if it doesnt say it turn the switch to the off position and hook the wire opposite of that. at this point make sure you arent getting power through the 12v by pulling the fuse. splice and run a positive wire, which should be a plain coated wire no stripe. and run it to the back of the switch at the middle which should say +12v and finally splice and run your ground. hook everything up to the amp and you are g2g. let me know if i need to explain better sorry. option number sounds hard but i honestly broke it way down.
