Strange Electrical Problem
Hi!
I was driving home yesterday and noticed an unusual smell followed by smoke coming through the air vents on the dashboard. I stopped and left it for a few hours. Everything then seemed fine. A while later I started the car again and there was a nice 'whirring' or 'moaning' sound coming from somewhere on the passenger side. When I press the gas it cuts out and resets everything at about 1500rpm. If I managed to get over 2500 everything works fine. I have since messed with connections and looked for burnt wires but cant see any. I restarted the car this morning and it was fine. I have since restarted it 4 or 5 times. Once the problem happened again, with the same sound. I turned off and on and it was gone and working perfectly. Does anyone have any ideas?
I live in the countryside and could really do with not looking like a disco flashing and jerking about in the road at night time. I appreciate any help.
I have a 2004 mazda 6 1.8 petrol.
Thanks
