Default Stock tires

I was wondering what are the stock tires on a 2006 mazda 6i. One of my friends has one at the dealer and they are charging her 290 dollars for a new tire( the last one popped when hitting roadkill). Anybody know what the tire is or if this is a decent price. i have extreme performance tires on my car and they are only 240 a piece. thanks

Stock tires are a rip off. Go with Toyo Proxes FZ4's, they are about $120/tire and mine lasted over 40,000 miles.

The stock Michelins are rather expensive, but she can do a lot better going to someplace like Discount Tire, NTB, or Tire Rack. Still expect to pay right around $200 for a replacement tire.
And while you can get better tires for a lot less, if you're only replacing one, it ends up being more expensive to buy a whole set obviously.
The price at the dealer is so high because he's buying them from the same tire discounters you can and marking the price up.
