What are your thoughts on getting one of those steering wheel locks that prevent the steering wheel from turning in case a burglar got into the car.

I was recently warned by the police that my kind of car ( newer models also ) is being targeted by thieves, in the area where I live.

I have a Euro Version 2007 Mazda with keyless entry/start. There are known hack devices that can intercept the remote fob security keys, I wonder if there is any software updates from Mazda about this ?

I am collecting opinions on these steering locks as preventive measure assuming that the thief has the hack technology to both open and start the car...

I heard recently that the thieves can actually take off the steering wheel to get around these security locks ??
