Is steering rack same for 1.8petrol as 2.0 diesel

Is steering rack same for 1.8petrol as 2.0 diesel
Hi can anyone tell me if the steering racks are the same for the mazda 6 1.8 petrol as the 2.0 diesel. I need to replace the rack and have sourced one from a 1.8 petrol can anyone confirm that this will fit in my 2.0 diesel?? And also is it a hard to get the rack out as i need to take the rack out of the scrapped car myself any info would be great as i have to go pick it up tomo cos car will be gone if not and the rack will only cost me 20 quid
