Seatbelt warning/beeping Mazda 6 Sport Estate (2009)
Hi all,
It's been almost a year since I purchased my Maza 6 Sport and since I bought it (used obvs), there was a problem with the rear seatbelt sensor which I did not discover until a couple of weeks after I bought it.
When the OS rear seatbelt is plugged in, the warning light on the rear view mirror lights up and the random beeping in loud, intolerable, unnecessary and distracting to the point where it's downright dangerous.
I am quite capable of checking if the seatbelt us plugged in and do not need lights or beeping to tell me otherwise. For this reason, I found a plug inside the rear view mirror (under the plastic panel) that leads to the rear seatbelt sensors. When I unplugged it, great. No more beeping (honestly it's properly dangerously distracting). Since then, I have a warning light flashing on my dashboard and I can't get rid of it, even if I plug the rear sensor back in. I've gotten used to it but the car is up for MOT so I now need to deal with it.
Can anyone help me on how I can get rid of this warning light? Any way of avoiding a trip to the dealer? Here is a youtube video of the issue:
Thank you!
