I have a 1991 Mazda 626. When the auto seat belt circuit board malfunctioned, the buzzer came on continuously. A local mechanic disabled the buzzer. Since then, the seat belt ckt board was replaced and I would like to reactive the buzzerbut the original mechanic no longer working and no one at the Garage knows what/how he did it. Any idea on how to enable the buzzer?

Default disable seat belt alarm accomplished

Hi,
I live in Spain and here we have tons of junkyards all over the place. I just outlined the belt clip on a sheet of paper, walked down to the junkyard with a pair of scissors and cut one off a brand new Honda that had the same clip outline. Most are standard, so you wont have much problem finding one. Since then, I take less stress pills!! Adios problema. When you use your belt, you just leave it close in the pocket between the front seats.
Hope this helps Forgot, They won´t even charge you for it at the junkyard!!

I've owned my 6 for a week now, have almost 1k on it, and in general, love it. What drives me nuts is that the seat belt alarm is disturbing.

I know, I know...the short answer is "wear your seat belt". I wear my seatbelt 100% of the time while driving on public roads, but there are occasions when I don't...for instance, I have a long driveway, and when I come home from work, I stop at the mailbox to pick up the mail. I don't put my seatbelt back on for the rest of the ride up the driveway, but the seatbelt alarm is blaring, then blaring faster, then blaring faster yet.

I don't need an alarm to tell me whether I have a seat belt on...I know that on my own.

How do I rip this thing out?

Owner's manual says consult your dealer. Dealer said "that might be a liability issue". I haven't purchased the service manual yet, so I'm looking to this forum for guidance.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is actually a reason for disabling it other than to drive without your seatbelt on.

I recently bought a second hand Mazda 2 2008 and the seat belt alarm is driving me crazy!

It seems to think that anything at all on the seat means that someone is sitting in that seat. When I put my handbag or even just a couple of books on the passenger or rear seats, the car begins without any trouble and then, maybe in 20 seconds time or sometimes half way to work, it decides that the seatbelt needs to be on and starts beeping loudly. I can't do anything about it when I'm on the freeway so I just have to put up with it. I really dont want to put my handbag or my lunch on the floor.

I always drive with my seatbelt on but this problem is very annoying.

Can this be fixed by an owner or is it a dealer only issue?
Thanks.

Please create a new thread in the Mazda 2 section which is the proper section for your car, this is a very old thread and therefor the information it contains may be outdated.
