Default RIMS?

Just bought a brand new Mazda 6 sport. I LOVE this car! I am a converted ex-honda man. Anyway, I live in the great white north, and I do not want to run my 17' alloy rims in the salt.. Can anyone tell me what size size 16" steel rim I am supposed to ask for at the rim store?

I'd run the stockers in the winter and buy some nice rims for the summer. My wife's car does great with the stock 17" wheels and 205/50R17 Dunlop Wintersport M3's. We run RX-8 18's in the summer.

The stock size of the 17" wheel is 17x7 with 60mm offset...If you really want to go to a 16" wheel, go 16x7 w/50-60mm offset and you'll be fine.

I thought the stock rims had a 55mm offset. *shrugs* I run 17x7.5" Enkei RPF-1's with 225/45 17R tires for autocross and have no problems with rubbing and they have a 49mm offset. As far as what you can run goes, well that depends on the offset, but you can get away with 7-7.5 at the offsets that sstlaure mentioned above.
