Default Removed air box to check engine mount. Now trying to stall at idle sometimes

Hi,

Removed the air box to get access to check an engine mount. Put it all back together and car wants to stall - often when I come to a stop, particularly when cold. Also drives a little weird.
Help/suggestions appreciated. Mazda 6 sport 2006.

Thanks,
Simon

If you have returned the thick tube and tiny small tubes neatly, plugged in the MAP connector, remove the connector from the battery again, wait 10-15 minutes.
Then turn on the car (air conditioner shutdown, turn off ventilation, turn off the radio, close the door). Dont touch nothing.
After 20 minutes enter the car, switch on air conditioning, radio, adjust windows, clock... Leave it so for another 20 minutes (without touching the gas pedal). And should work okay!

Okay. (Map?) connector from the battery? I assume you mean: Disconnect the battery for 15min. Reconnect the battery. Then do the rest?

I'll try it. Why does this work?

cheers,
Simon.

I think it worked!! I'll have to verify tomorrow when the car is cold as I think it's worse when cold.

Question/points:

- Are all modern cars like this? Surely not. And if not, what is Mazda thinking!? There must be hundreds of thousands of people with this problem after their battery goes flat! I asked a mechanic friend who has 3 mazdas and he didn't come up with this solution. I'll have to ask him about it tomorrow.
- If Mazdas are like this, why isn't it all over the internet? If you google "mazda idle reset" there's not that much.
- If when you disconnect your battery the computer thinks it is a new car/manifold etc. then why don't you have to go through this process as your car ages? As your car ages the computer obvously adjusts automatically so why can't it also adjust when you reconnect your battery and drive around for 45minutes?!!!

That is just trick that learn from youtube/internet.
Google ECU reset, relearn idle etc..
Maybe it can be driven to ECU to "learn", but then you have a drumming and vibration, stalling in the car 45min in driving..
