Default Oxygen Sensor - Sensor Signal Stuck Lean

We were getting these two errors on our 2005 Mazda6 GT with the 3.0 Liter V6.

P2197 02 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean - Bank 2 Sensor 1

P2195 02 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean - Bank 1 Sensor 1

The symtoms were that the car would chug and almost die when you would accelerate from a stop sign or accelerate really at all. It was drivable but you wouldn't want to pull out in traffic and expect to go fast quickly.

I parked the car in the driveway for a month and rode my bicycles to work, which I normally do anyway. Then I finally called the dealership and got a tech who was willing to talk. He said that these codes are usually triggered when the intake accordion hose that comes directly off the air filter housing to the intake manifold dry rotts and gets slits in the accordion section of the hose. I drove the car out and bought the hose ($89) and put it on in the dealership parking lot. It runs like a top again.

Hope this helps.
