Hi. Anyone heard about this? Locksmith tells me that an OS upgrade was made in the last couple months to prevent non-dealership locksmiths from adding a new key and could require a tow to the dealership if attempted. Does anyone know what OS version number this is? It looks like an older version will allow the locksmith to program up an ebay fob, but right now it is iffy if a newer OS was put on the car from a dealership visit or just by the owner thru the display.

I very doubt this. In today's market of manufactures being forced to share access to their vehicles I highly doubt it.
