Hi everyone.
In 2018 i bought a Mazda 6 2.2 diesel 15 plate.
Wonderful car, hasn't put a foot wrong since the day i've had it.It's been serviced on time every year since, and other than new brake pads hasn't needed anything doing to it.
Unfortunately, last moth while driving home, the engine made a bang and it went into "safe mode" i pulled it off the road and had a tow truck bring it to a garage.
The news was shocking to say the least. Complete engine fail. A new engine was the only fix.I got in touch with my insurance company and while not covered, they sent an independent mechanic out to confirm it. Sure enough, it needs a new engine. CRAZY!!!
Has anyone heard of this happening to this engine before? 97,000 miles on it.
While not going into to much detail, it financially makes sense to replace the engine, but i live in Ireland and so far nothing. The garage advised to look toward the UK.
Does anyone have any ideas or knowledge of places to look or to contact, it would be a great help.
