Moisture in the headlight housing
Has anyone had problems with moisture gathering inside of the headlight housing? We had heavy rains this weekend and there is heavy condensation (big drops!) inside both of my headlight housings on the 2004 Mazda 6. I took it by the dealer yesterday and the service manager pretty much blew me off, saying it needed a couple of days to dry out and it would be fine. I've never had this problem before and it seems that it wouldn't be a good thing for the electrical system. Thanks for any comments.
well, the headlight system will take a long time to dry (that service manager needs to have a little talk). Is your vehicle still under warranty because if so, your unit will be replaced. That is a slight defect that should be tended to. As for the electrical components, I don't think that should be a problem but i'm not too knowledgable in that area. I had my side marker lights have a little water in them after accidentally squirting into them while washing the inside of my bumper... that took 3 days before i got impatient and put a paper towel in them.
thats why when i park my car at home i park it facing down hill so no moister will get in there, when i was facing uphill i would get all kinds of water in it enough to pour out when i got the car straight
Took it back in today and showed them after 3 days of dry weather nothing had changed. They agreed this time to order new lenses and replace them. Glad it's being taken care of but shouldn't have had to make two trips. Thanks for the responses.
just happy that they are swapping those units out for you... alot of times they will be stingy and not want to do that so they make up every excuse that they can.
I had that problem with my passenger side headlight. But, I love my Mazda service guys. They take care of me everytime I come in with an issue. They immediately ordered a new headlight for me, no questions asked.
thats because you have ****
