Manual or Auto?

Manual or Auto?
how much slower is the auto than the manual from a stop?
then from a roll?
if any.
I dont really want to deal with a manual but if you lose that much power then I would go ahead and get the manual
Thanks for the info

RE: Manual or Auto?
just figures, you'd loose another 7-8 hp with the ATX, mine dyno'd @ 128whp. the new tranny might be a bit different than my 4speed in terms of times from a dig, but not much. if the tranny shifts fast enough, the atx with an intake should be a decent match for a stock mtx. though at a launch, it's a lot easier to use the mtx rather than powerbrake if you are really trying to launch hard.

RE: Manual or Auto?
Manuals are usually a little faster in the hands/foot of a good driver. Also sometimes the engine with manual has more horses than the same car with auto (Infiniti G35 coupe, Corvette) or some cars are not available with auto. And only a few autos (G35) will blip the engine like double clutch downshifting a manual if that's your enjoyment.
But I have to agree that autos have improved so much in recent years that there is no big difference comes to performance and gas mileage when compared to manuals.
We have autos that adapt to your driving style, 6 speed in Madza 6, 7 speeds in a Mercedes and Lexus coming up with a 8 speed.
I say enjoy the car; auto or manual is just a choice.

As a manual driver for many years, you can still get a good jump on many other auto drivers with the atx box. I have the 6sp and I am pretty happy with it - would love launch control though and a disengaging clutch.
