Default Mods for more horsepower using no money

I have a Gutted airbox and the EGR mod completed. i was wondering if there is anything else i could do with out spending money.. Let me know. Thanks

you can gut your interior to reduce weight... that leads to a quicker quarter mile time and better on gas mileage. personally though, why are you trying to get horsepower when you are spending no money towards achieving real power? i know this from personal experience. your gutted air box will add little hp and a quicker throttle response. If you want real power, you need to get a CAI or SRI, have an optimized throttle body, engine management system, higher durometer engine mounts, etc.

basically what I am coming down to is, the mazda6 in close-to-stock form is not a very quick vehicle. that's just reality. if you are really craving horsepower, you need to invest time and money into your vehicle. doing these little petty modifications is truly not going to give you any huge boost in horsepower.

You cut off a portion of the EGR Valve tube to a certain point in the intake tract. The reasoning being is that with that particular piece obstructing airflow in that runner, that bank may run more lean than the other. I also did this mod with the coolant bypass mod when I changed my plugs.
