I am looking to get a mazdaspeed 6 but I have heard a few negative things about this car from friends and reviews. One of the main ones was about the transmission that it was crap and very rough, is this true? Also I was told that some of these cars have alternator problems, is this true as well? Is this car worth buying?

 

Never heard f either of those issues with that car. Now, I have heard about them breaking the rear diff mount & other small issues, but there are companies out there that offer stronger parts to replace them. I have a few friends with these cars that absolutely love them, and have actually gone from the regular 6 to these.

i also have never heard anything about the trans or alternator. i have heard of the rear diff mount going out and the turbo on the 2006 model being prone to smoking, but after market companies have that covered.

go with a 2007 model if you can. the bulk of the issues that i have seen are in the 2006 model. could be that it is the first year of them, could be that they represent the bulk of the market. either way, i would go with a 2007 just to be on the safe side.
