Default Mazda 6s 14s?

What would it take to get a mazda 6s (V6, 5 speed manual) into the mide 14s?
I am looking for a new daily driver, but I have to have some pep in my cars. I have researched performance but I haven't found much of an aftermarket for the v6, and stock performance figures are varying greatly, from stock 0-60 in 6.5 to stock 0-60 in 8.0 sec.

if you are a good driver, you can be in the 14's with just an intake and header setup from CPE. i think the best i've seen is 14.7....though i think he was running 15" rims with sticky rubber?

my roommate was running 14.7 in his 6s ATX with nitrous

Well....Speed6 is 14 flat @ 276 hp according to Car & Driver, stock 3.0L is something like 15.4 in the 1/4 @ 220 hp, I think with front wheel drive only, you're going to need Speed6 like power to hit mid-14's

0-60 in 6.5 seconds is the 3.0L V6, 8.0 is for the 2.3L 4-cyl

is the 2.3 really that slow? even with MTX? cause i read somewhere that (with a good driver), the I4 MTX gets the same numbers vs a V6 ATX.

so based on wut ur saying, 8 seconds to 60. What about the 1/4mile?
btw. if ur correct about this, it means my mom's 2001 Honda Odyssey is quicker by 1.5 seconds?![:@]

Those numbers were from a Car & Driver article. I found the 3.0L 1/4 mile time in a different article.

The Mazda 3s 5-door (same basic 2.3L engine, lighter car) also shows 0-60 in the 8.0 second range with a 1/4 mile of 16.3@ 85mph. Gearing could be slightly different between the cars, but the comparison should be close enough.

Your mom's Odyssey may be able to outrun you in a straight line, but just throw in a chicane at mid track and you're good to go.

its the late 01 model (2002 engine/tranny specs)
meaning 240 hp 3.5L V6 bolted to a 5spd auto.
LX models means nothing fancy. so its light. weights in at 4050 lbs.
yea. its quick. [:@]

Um... i dont care how quick you are at shifting ur 4cyl ur not gonna come close to a 6 cyl atx... i can like sit their at a light for a few seconds while the 4 cyl guns it and still pass the car.

daishi. it all depends on the conditions.
remember this though
sidestepping the clutch is ALOT more effective then a brake-torque launch.
