Default Mazda 6 turbo issue...

Hi All,
Right, the story so far…
I bought a Mazda 6, let’s call her Maude, TS22.0l Diesel (143) 2007 estate with a BOSE sound system and 86000miles on theclock. Good nick in general and well serviced.
6 months in and Maude has a slight problem ofsmoke at start up and struggling to start. Heater plugs and seals replaced, problem solved.
Then a year ago Maude’s limp mode engaged,Mazda wanted many £s to recycle/clean DPF, I didn’t go for that. Instead theDPF was removed and engine remapped for performance at another garage (nice guyand very helpful) for the same the same cost. From then on excellentperformance and MPG from Maude.
Maude’s now on 105000miles ish.
Until… Maude’s turbo gave up about 8 weeksago. New (reconditioned) turbo went in by a turbo specialist (whom seem genuinefolks) and this is where I’m asking for help/advice.
After turbo went in Maude had very very slowacceleration up until about 1750 – 2250 rpm then woosh off like a shot. Turbopeople said it’s probably the EGR.
I called the remap garage to see if he couldmap out the EGR, unfortunately the software version for Maude won’t allow that,I could get latest software version from Mazda (who probably want many many £sfor software update/upgrade) and then he could map out EGR.
Instead I went to a different garage (whomalso seem genuine folks) who took off cleaned and checked over EGR and found noissue. EGR garage also checked for fault codes and found none. EGR garage saidshe sounds rough as hell when air intake box taken off and could be a problemwith waste gate in turbo.
This is where I’m at now…
This coming Saturday Maude is going to the turbogarage so they can check, for free, the waste gate and general turbo (still inwarrantee) condition.
As I seem to have a propensity for problemcars I have become very cynical and almost always expect the worst. I want tokeep Maude because she’s a great ride and I’ve spent quite a lot on her now andcant/don’t want to ditch her and start over again, also I’ve just married amtrying to buy a house and wifey wants babies…NOW!!!!
Anyone out there have any more suggestions asto what may or may not be the problem…?
Any advice greatly appreciated, be it aboutthe car or my life…
Gaz.
