Hello everybody
I have an issue with my mazda 6 2016 2.5L engine that is very expensive to fix , so I need to replace the whole engine. Unfortunately a 2.5 L engine is also expensive with the labor costs. Is it possible to put the 2.0 L engine instead? I mean on the long run do I need to change anything like transmission , ECU or other parts? I know there will be a slight diffirence in the performance of the vehicle , but I can accept that as long as I will not need more parts other thann the engine itself.
please help me with this issue

It is not a straight forward swap.

For a start, you would need the ECM/PCM from the 2.0 ltr engine, which would require programming to your car, this may not even be possible.
