Default Mazda 6 Engine light

I keep having to take my 6 in for service, as the engine light comes on. Is this due to needing an oil change. This will get expensive when the warranty runs out.

It's possible but I don't think it's every time. Please post which Diagnostic Troubleshooting Codes that are setting the check engine
light. Then we can be of better assistance to your problem.

Check engine light coming on does not mean that you are in need of an oil change or any other service. It means that your engine computer has found a problem somewhere in the operation of your emission or running system and is telling you to find out what the problem may be. Where are you posting from?

you are not the first one.

i'm thinking to trade this in sometime next year eventhough i only had one check engine light on before.

i also had my radiator cooling fan constantly staying on and they had to replace the module

just bring it to them and they will give you a rental so nothing you have worry about.

it is still a new design mazda so it might take awhile to really update

I havent really had any problems with my 6 yet. No CEL lights except for once but when i restarted my car, it was gone. The only thing left is my engine pinging problem.

Check engine lights could come on for something really simple as a fuel cap not proprly screwed in ! I know it happened on my Cobra and it also mentions it in the owner's manual . Get your codes checked and noted .

i'm going to be putting an air intake on my car soon and i know that the chances of getting a CEL light on my dashboard are pretty good. hopefully this light will not annoy me for too long haha.

with the K+N air intake if you install it correctly you shouldn't get a CEL. But with AEM or Injen you are taking a big chance!
