I'm looking to install a cold air intake on my Mazda 6 2007 first generation. But looking at the engine bay and where my stock air filter is located and the placement of the MAF sensor I ain’t sure if it’s possible. Unless i can somehow get the sensor fitted on to the aftermarket part?
Any ideas?

No, at low power settings there is very little restriction with the factory intake and virtually zero difference between it and an aftermarket intake. The thing is, the factory intake uses sonic tuning to take advantage of intake resonance to enhance mid range torque at the slight expense of top end output (i.e. up near redline at WOT). Under the heading of you have to borrow from Peter to pay Paul, aftermarket intakes typically hurt mid range torque to eek out a couple of horsepower up near redline.
As a general rule, the only thing an aftermarket intake will give you the factory intake will not, is noise.
