Mazda 6 - Battery / Electrical System Issue
I have a 2016 Mazda 6 Grand Touring with the i-eloop system. Recently my car stalled out while driving and threw up multiple errors, including battery system malfunction, charging system malfunction etc. I couldn't move the vehicle and had to get it towed to a service center. They took a long time to diagnose and have come back and said that I need a new battery, alternator and dc-dc convertor. It totals to around $2.5k. I'm shocked at this high price. The car is meticulously maintained with regular service. There was never a warning before this failure.
Has anyone seen failures like this? Does the estimate seem reasonable? I asked around other dealerships, they all seem to land around the same price. I chose Mazda for their reliability and low maintenance, never expected this kind of failure. The car is out of warranty, not sure if Mazda can do anything else.
