Hello everyone, ive recently encountered a issue with the KEY FOB of my mazda 6 2008 MZR-CD.
I opened my key FOB casing in order to show my colleague the numbers on the battery, so that she would get a idea of what to look for to buy.
I assembled the key again, and at the end of the evening after work i couldnt unlock my car anymore.
I tried opening and closing the casing and finicking around with the battery and the alluminium pins at the bottom in case it was a contact issue but to no avail.
To note that the key FOB is not lighting up as i press the buttons.
I tried replacing my battery later aswel but its still not lighting up.
Couldnt find many other FOB options either, at least close to where i live.
Can anyone help me figure out if this is something simple i am missing on the key? Or if i just need to find a new one.
I have tried reprograming in case it was a light issue but it didnt work, i successfully got the car in programing mode but double tapping unlock did nothing.
Also the car works just fine, i can use the key no problem its just the FOB
I could be wrong, but I think you might of lost the metal contacts.
You can buy replacement cases on eBay very cheap, just swap over the circuit board..
I've seen a lot of different fobs for this type of key, and I'm quite confused what to go for, the prices are also very fluctuating between 10€ or 30€,
Could help me on some advice on what to look for to avoid getting scammed?
