Keyless entry: lights don't flash and car won't honk
Right on time for winter. My Mazda 6 no longer flashes its lights when I lock or unlock my car. Also, if I click the lock button twice, it no longer honks. Do I possibly have a short in the system? What do you think?
Also, my heater blows cold air when my car is not moving. It works fine if I start my car in the morning, but as soon as I start driving and I stop at a light, it blows cold air. People I talked to said it could be a frozen thermostat and to just replace it. Could it possibly be anything else? No one on any forums has had the same problem.
Any ideas?

I've had the same thing happen occasionally with my lights not flashing. Have you changed the battery in the remote? This has only been an intermittent issue for me, and it's been working fine now for the past few weeks.
I too experienced this issue where my lights and horn would not function properly from the remote. I was told it may be linked to the hood latch (as false as that might sound). I did take a shot to the front of my 6 a while back which may have nudged something but I couldn't find any reason for the lights and horn to stop functioning. After a month or so it just started working again and I haven't had the problem since.
