Help PLEASE!!!
Hello Everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me! Over the last several months my car has been acting up with an electrical problem. I have an 06/Mazda 6. It started where I would flick my right single for example and my left would go off, or the 4-ways would come on. It then escalated to even with the car off my blower fan still would run as if the car was on. Now, the power locks work sometimes then not at all. The lights in my car are on and stay on even with the car off, not just the cabin lights but also the panel indicator lights would flicker or stay on with the car off.... Clearly I am having some sort of electrical problem. I don't know much about cars, especially anything to do with electrical. Could this simply be corrosion of wires? Or a computer module acting up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I agree with Kevin. Of course we don't know why the BCM does these things. But it may have to do with wires being chafed off or bad ground contacts or corrosion. Wires may get pinched or chafed at holes through the firewall. The clock spring in the steering wheel is always suspect.
Here is a link showing some parts of the wiring diagram, even though it does not address your problem:

I have a 06 Mazda 6 and have noticed a bad spot for grounds (see pic). As you can see it is in direct path from splashing up from your front tire when you go through puddles. It is under the air box so you'll need to remove it (once you have vac lines and solenoid unplugged, hose clamps undone, the box just lifts up-give it a yank up). You need to cut that ground block off as it is corrodded inside, strip your wires back (hopefully they are not all black and burnt). You then need to extend those 4 wires by soldering them to a larger single wire up top to where the battery hold down is. (the same spot as the new extra body ground on my pics).
You also need to add an extra ground wire from the negative terminal to the body and to the engine! I also added one to throttle body.
I don't know if this will solve your problem but it's a good start!
If you have an automatic, a ground to tranny would be nice as well.
After I installed my K&N SRI, i noticed water still splashing up there, so i installed a water deflector---see Video.
I noticed the rust and acted on it before problems started.
