head lights
ok i need some help figuring out something
now if you can take a good look at the front lights on your 6. count the different sections inside the light housing....
i count 4 ... the outside is the reg light the inside is the high beam, the one next to the regular beam is the directional, so what is the 4th one?

lol , it's the fog light ... if it come equiped with it as on the GT .... base models don't have it .... look on your headlight/flasher stalk ; there's an extra ring to turn them on , again , if you have'em ....
the fog lights are built into the headlights.... when i first purchased my 6sport, I was wondering where the fog lights were, but when i flicked on the fog light switch, i noticed they were actually a full unit with the headlights. you can always slap a few lower fog lights in your grill if you want that lower racing foglight effect.
I think the difference in location is depending on when they were equipped with fog lights. The factory installed fog lights are in the headlight assembly. If they were installed at the port or dealer then will be in the lower part of the bumper.
The 4th light on 2006 is non functional as the fog lights are now by themselves in the bumper.
Mazda saves $$$ by carry over the headlight units from 2005. They will be redesigned comes the next make over. This is product planning or make room for the future. Roll out everything, then you've nothing "new and improved" to sell. This type of marketing is particularly true in electronics and cameras.
