Default Experience with the '09's ??

I'm new here..and looking for some information on the '09 Mazda 6. How is the quality of these, I have heard a lot about previous years not being that great. I know this is redesigned, so is it better? I'm debating between the s Grand Touring with Bose and navigation and an Accord coupe EX-L V6. This will be my first "non-domestic" car, and I have heard Honda's quality has been higher, but supposedly the Mazda 6 is right up there. Anyone have one, any input on this?

A few questions about it. The push button start/automatic door unlock. What happens when the battery in the remote dies? Is there a backup? Also, is a factory car starter available?

Thanks

I don't own the new 6, but it seems that Mazda has certainly made this car a lot more competitive than the previous generaton. BTW, the new Honda Accord is a nice ride - I don't think you'd go wrong with either one. Being the the '09 Mazda6 is still a brand new model, it may take a while for any major issues to show up.

Default 09 Mazda6

Just bought one a few days ago and really like it. The six cylinder engine seems like it's quite powerful (not broken in enough to test it out).

So far, the only problem we have is with the radio/Nav system. The time cannot be set and the radio appears to change settings at will (balance, etc). The GPS was also out of calibration and thought the car was in another city. My son set it up so it appears to be working, but I still need to bring it to the dealers for the clock and radio problems. We bought the showroom model and it's possible that people sit in the car and play with the controls which may have caused the problems. The dealer will be working on it next week.

I love the car, but would probably buy it without the built-in navigation system. It's nice looking, but a portable Garmin seems to be a better system for a lot less money.

I bought a new 6 grand touring myself. The only option i did'nt get was the navigation. I am thrilled with it so far, what a fun car to drive. I have about 1,000 miles on it so far and no problems at all with mine.

Have you looked at the Ford Fusion? Beat both the Camry and Accord for quality last year.

^ I second that, and I'm from a Chevy family. Speaking of, check out the '09 Malibu too, especially is you're gonna go for a higher-end model (which it looks like you are). The LTZ is very well equipped for just under 27K I believe, and I'll bet you that's a lot cheaper than an equivalent Camry or Accord.
