Default excessive exhaust condensation/steam

Hi to the forum

I have a 17 plate petrol mazda 6 sport nav with 19k miles on bought earlier this year from dealership.

I just wondered if anyone else had suffered from what seems excessive exhaust output or if anyone knows a potential cause of this? It happens even when the temperature ourtside is mild. I do tend to do short runs but the problem still occurs after doing long runs of a few hundred miles. I say its excessive because it seems it compared to other cars and i get the steam/condensate when pulling away or sat idling. Pressing the accelerator makes it worse.

The output seems more like steam/condensate than anything sinister like white smoke. I say this because it doesnt smell and disipates quickly. I have had it back to the dealers who did a water/coolant pressure test which came back clear. The only thing they picked up was the oil level was at minimum but they couldnt find why and suspect it may have been like this from the last service. I am taking it back in 1000 miles to have it checked over by them again.

cheers.

I would leave it with the dealer overnight for them to carry out a cold start inspection.

Hi Grim, i did this. They had it overnight and worked on it the day after. They could find nothing wrong but i got the impression they were keen/took an interest aswell so im happy they did look.

I am due to take it back to them next month when the 1000 miles has been done so they can have another look.

I just find it strange how a newish car would give out so much condensate/steam.
